AgCarolina Financial -- new name for East Carolina Farm Credit

East Carolina Farm Credit, the largest rural lender in eastern North Carolina for more than 90 years, has changed its name to AgCarolina Financial effective December 1, 2007.

"The belief is that we only lend to farmers, and that just isn't true," said AgCarolina Financial President Gene Charville. "Production agriculture will always be our mainstay, but the rural landscape is changing and will continue to do so, and this reflects our intent to reach people who aren't aware they are eligible for our services."
